Parts for cars post-1980

PLEASE BE AWARE: SOME OF THESE PARTS MAY NO LONGER BE AVAILABLE, AND PLEASE BEAR IN MIND THAT SOME PARTS WERE ALREADY IN SHORT SUPPLY, DUE THE FACTORY'S FAILURE TO RESTOCK FOLLOWING CESSATION OF THE TIME LIMIT FOR THEIR STATUTORY OBLIGATION TO SUPPLY SPARE PARTS.

With many parts for the Biturbo-era cars becoming increasingly difficult to get hold of, I thought it would be a good idea to publish a list of what is still available here in the UK.

So you can imagine how delighted I was to receive this reply from Ross Peters at Meridien-Modena to an email I sent him requesting further information on available parts. Just in case you weren't aware, Meridien-Modena have been an official Maserati concessionaire for many years now, and I am grateful to them for their support.

During the late eighties the then importer Maserati UK Ltd went into receivership. In 1991 John Butt and his team bought the franchise. Meridien Maserati was formed and it was through their efforts that the Marque and its owners were well represented here in the UK.

With the comparative success of the Ghibli, Meridien moved to impressive premises in Bournemouth. When Maserati went under Ferrari control, the role of importer was moved to Maranello Concessionaires.

In May 2000 Meridien-Modena moved back to Lyndhurst when they were made official Ferrari and Maserati dealers for the south coast. Today they have one of the most experienced workshops for today's and 'Biturbo-era' Maseratis in the country.

All UK Maserati owners should be grateful for Meridien's sterling work!

In response to your request for details of the Maserati parts that we have in stock, please find attached a list of original Maserati spare parts for post-1980 models. I have also included a guide to facilitate part recognition.

Maserati Biturbo parts were originally constructed in the following way; the first 2 digits indicate the model type, the next 2 show its position on the car ( front, back, engine, etc. etc. ), and the last digits are either random or can be used to show it is either left, right, upper or lower, etc. etc.

I only know for sure the first 2 numbers, these indicate the model that Maserati originally designed the part for, but that does not necessarily mean it will only fit that particular model, as many Maserati parts are very interchangeable!

These were the original part no. pre cursers…

30 = Quattroporte III

31 = Biturbo Coupe ( from 2.5 to Racing )

32 = Biturbo 4-door ( 425 to 4.24v )

33 = Spyder/Karif

34 = 228

 

35 = Not used

36 = Ghibli

37 = Quattroporte IV

38 = 3200 GT

39 = Shamal

When Fiat took over control, they then constructed engine part numbers separately, they are…

479 = V8 Engine

470 = V6 Engine

Then Ferrari took over and made these precursors for engine…

580 = V6 Engine

585 = V8 Engine
