| SUBJECT: use of unleaded fuel | |
The use of unleaded fuel on engines produced in the past might cause damage to units without syntherised (hardened) valve seats. |
|
The families of engines described below, manufactured between 1981 and 1993 and installed on non-catalytic cars are suitable for use with unleaded fuel: |
|
1. V6, 3 valves, 2000 and 2500 cc capacity are suitable from unit number 15048, produced on March 1987. |
|
2. V6, 4 valves, 2000 cc capacity are suitable from unit number 802236, produced on the 16th January 1992, the cylinder head markings beginning with S or 490. |
|
|
3. V6, 3 valves, 2800 cc capacity all models are suitable. |
|
| 4. V6, 4 valves, 2800 cc capacity all models are suitable. | |
| 5. V8, 3200 cc capacity all models are suitable. | |
Vehicles equipped with engines produced outside the aforementioned period can be upgraded installing cylinder heads equipped with valve seats made of syntherised materials available from our a Maserati Spares Dept with the following part numbers: |
