"Hi Enrico,
The annual Bristol Italian Auto Moto Festival took place on Saturday 29th April. This year the event was fully subscribed with well over 200 cars, plus many more bikes and scooters than in previous years. The organisers had negotiated extra parking space with Bristol City Council to good effect. That plus the warm sunshine brought out the crowds who were able to view Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Alfas, Lancias, Fiats, Abarths, Moto Guzzis, Ducatis, Laverdas, Vespas, Lambrettas, and rarities such as a Pininfarina bodied Jowett, a Hillman Zimp (Zagato bodied), a pre-war Ceirano tourer, a Moto Guzzi Falcone, and several Moto Rumi scooters.
Oh yes, and then there were the Maseratis: my own 222 4v, three 3200GTs courtesy of Pat, Gavin and Julian; two Meraks, brought along by Dave and Claudio; Reg's 420/430; and from unknown owners a Quattroporte IV, a new Quattroporte, and a Coupe. Ten in all, quite a good turnout. The notable exception being Enrico in his fabulous Ghibli MY94!!
Not so many trade stalls this year, perhaps this made more space for car parking? I was slightly disappointed not to see the new Quattroporte Sport GT or Executive GT being shown by a dealer, but I was able to view the new Alfa Brera and 159.
Thanks to Bristol and West AROC, Bristol City Council, and all others concerned for a well organised and enjoyable event.
Regards,
Roger." |
