David Thomas of "book selling" fame had mentioned the rare Maseratis in the Rosso Bianco Car Collection to me some time ago and had kindly presented me with some photographs which he confessed had been taken in very poor light (his flash wasn't working!). No matter how hard I tried, with the help of some of the best software available, I was unable to reproduce any decent copies for this site, so I decided that this time en route to Italy I would visit the museum and endeavour to bring these exciting Maseratis closer to you. The Rosso Bianco Collection is situated on the outskirts of Aschaffenburg, near Frankfurt on Main in Germany. It justifiably boasts the "greatest collection of Alfa Romeos in the world", the "greatest collection of Lancias in Europe" and the "greatest collection of Ferraris in Germany", but I was there to see its fine collection of racing and road-going Maseratis. I was not disappointed and I would recommend a visit to any fan of exotic Italian automobiles. I would like the thank the Rosso Bianco Auto Museum for allowing me access to these fabulous machines to photograph what I think is one of the most interesting Maserati collections in Europe outside the Panini Museum.

DIRECTIONS - Exit the E41/3 Autobahn at Junction 59 (Aschaffenburg Ost). - Follow directions for Aschaffenburg, continue in a straight ahead direction along the Schönbornstraße for around 1.2 km. - Carry straight on into Schillerstraße for another 2.0 km. - Straight ahead across the River Main via the Ebertbrücke bridge. - Carry on straight ahead along the Westring and across the Adenauerbrücke bridge. - After the bridge turn left at the traffic lights, following the directions for Obernau, into Obernauer Straße. - Continue along this road for about 1 km and you will see the Rosso Bianco Auto Museum on your left-hand side. From April until October opening hours at the museum are from 10.00 am until 6.00 pm from Tuesday till Sunday (Closed Mondays). Admission costs €6.00 for adults and €3.00 for senior citizens, the handicapped, children and students. Family tickets are available for up to five persons at €17.00. I promise you will find the visit very rewarding no matter what make of car you favour!!!
