Described as:

"1973 Maserati Bora - Recent find at an estate auction, has been stored inside for over 20 years. As you can see from the pictures it does have its issues and needs some TLC to bring it back to its previous glory. Here's a chance to get a good deal and with some work a great investment.

I'll try to explain to the best of my ability and any questions are welcome and all will be answered in a timely matter. As stated this was part of an estate auction with numerous vehicles, The 1973 Maserati Bora along with others vintage vehicles were found stored inside the home's basement. The speedo is in kilometres and reads 39,820km. All the other info I could get from the vehicle is listed as follows:

I was advised that my vehicle in fact is NOT a 1973 and is in FACT a 1972 BORA. It is the 24th left hand drive car built in 1972. Also it is one of 289 Boras built with the 4.7L engine. Many Thanks to the gentleman who provided me with this valuable info.

CHASSIS# - AM117/*066*
ENGINE# - AM107/07/47*066*."

"Ciao Enrico,

In case you have £20k to spend !!

An Important Auction of Fine Historic Autombiles and Associated Collectables
Royal Horticultural Halls, London
Tuesday 1st December 2009 at 13:00

Lot 462

Chassis Number: AM122.A.583
Registration Number: YOU 533

In the creative environment that coincided with the beginning of the 1970s, Maserati began work on the design of a car with high performance sporting characteristics capable of dominating the hard-fought 3 litre class of the market. In order to avoid risks, the layout of the Merak, the name of a star in the constellation of Ursa Major, had more than one point in common with the company‚ successful flagship, the Bora, and something beyond a simple resemblance. From its sister it took the undercarriage up to the doors, the same body and, with slight modifications, also the suspension and steering. The engine was the already classic 90° V6 of some three litres, initially developing 190bhp for a maximum speed of 240km/h. Road holding and handling were both excellent; the car was quick and nimble, and great fun to drive.

The example on offer here today is described by the vendor as being in very good to excellent overall condition, having benefitted from a recent comprehensive service project undertaken at specialist restorers Motorvation of Hertfordshire, which ran to some £7,750 in early 2004.

Finished in its original red with a beige leather interior, YOU 533 comes complete with current V5 certificate and a comprehensive history file including previous MoT certificates, invoices from the considerable works which have been carried out on the car over the years, and the original owner’s manual.

Estimate: £20000 - £25000

"Ciao Maurizio,

I haven't got £20, never mind £20,000!!

You must have misunderstood, I said that my wife had won £10 on the Lottery, not £10,000,000 !!!

Saluti,

Enrico."

From Dan in the USA

"Dear Enrico,

My father gave this item to me as a child. My father was an engineer at the Ford proving grounds outside of Detroit, MI in the early 1960s and late 1970s. During his time with Ford, my father visited the Maserati manufacturing plant in Italy and was given this pendant or charm as a gift by Maserati.

While this item probably isn’t a one-of-a-kind, it is exceptionally rare. I’ve tried for many years to find another example of this pendant online and to have this item appraised without success; thus it’s true monetary value is unknown. It appears to be handmade and I was told that it is constructed of silver.

While I would rather not part with this item, I find myself in dire financial straits and have little choice. I would prefer that this item be sold to a true Maserati enthusiast who will appreciate it.

Please note that this item has never been cleaned over the past 40 or so years thus its appearance — it should look beautiful once cleaned by a jeweller!

Dan."

From Ricardo in Portugal

"Hi,

Here are some photos of my 1991 4.24v biturbo with 75000 km.

I bought it recently and I have a few questions, it´s said that front lights are from a Fiat 127 and that fog/long reach lights are from Lancia Thema. Where can I get the stop lights in the rear, what car is it from ?

Sometimes the two left exhausts blow some smoke (probably burning some oil). What do you think it could be ? Should I open the engine ?

Thanks,

Ricardo - Lisbon, Portugal."
