LAWN AS MONTEREY CAR WEEK RETURNS FOR 2021
 

Monterey, Calif., 16 August 2021 ̵ Maserati's MC20 made its Northern California debut this weekend during the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance event, where the vehicle appeared before crowds of fans on the Concept Lawn. The MC20, marking a new era for the Trident brand, was greeted with adulation by VIP spectators who took in the sleek lines of the mid̵engine, two̵seater sports car.

The Pebble Beach Concept Lawn is considered one of the highlights of Monterey Car Week in California, and the MC20 was there to impress with eyes watching from all over the globe as the event returned for 2021. The Concept Lawn showcases forward thinking design and innovation, which was more than evident in the striking aerodynamics of the MC20. Boasting a top speed of over 326 km/h, the MC20 is the first Maserati with a carbon fiber monocoque and, weighing less than 1500 kg, the super sports car also features the powerful new Maserati Nettuno engine. The Nettuno engine is a V6 that incorporates F1̵derived technology to create an exceptional power̵to̵weight ratio and delivering 0̵100 km/h acceleration in 2.88 seconds.

The new Maserati MC20 is a car with racing DNA and a worthy successor to the legendary MC12. In fact, the MC in the name stands for "Maserati Corse", the Italian word for "racing". The 630 CV Nettuno engine ensures the racing heritage of Maserati is felt by the driver, and it is also a return to Maserati producing its own power units after a hiatus of more than 20 years. Built in Italy, the Maserati MC20 is 100% Made in Modena.

Modena, 5th August 2021 ̵ Maserati Grecale sets sail on the Maserati Multi 70 trimaran: the name of the new SUV has been showcased and the countdown for its debut on the world stage has begun. This November, the spotlight will turn on as the new car is unveiled.

Once the new mainsail was hoisted and the name of Grecale appeared, Giovanni Soldini and his crew became standard-bearers of the next phase of the new era of Maserati. Just like the wind moves the sails and leads the trimaran to victory, it is once again a wind to carry a new model into the range.

London, 9 July 2021 ̵ Maserati's MC20 super sports car made its UK dynamic debut at Goodwood's 27th Festival of Speed, taking on the famous hill climb in the Supercar Run. Over the four̵day motoring event, taking place at Goodwood in West Sussex from 8 ̵ 11 July, Maserati MC20 has been put to the test on the 1.16 mile course.

The MC20 is the Trident brand's first mid̵engine two̵seater super sports car boasting a top speed of over 202mph, and is the first Maserati with a carbon fibre monocoque, meaning the whole car weighs in at a feather̵light 1500kg. Paired with its powerful F1-derived engine, this combination ensures an exceptional power to weight ratio, for a jaw̵dropping acceleration and top speed, achieving 0-62mph in 2.8 seconds. The Maserati Nettuno engine is on display alongside the MC20 in the Supercar Paddock.

The Ghibli Trofeo, in Nero Ribelle, Maserati's performance saloon, also made an appearance on the iconic hill climb as part of First Glance, showcasing its 580 hp V8 engine that can reach 62mph in 4.3 seconds.

MASERATI MC20 TO MAKE DEBUT
AT GOODWOOD FESTIVAL OF SPEED
 

London, 2 July 2021 ̵ Maserati MC20, will be one of the headline appearances at this year's much-anticipated Festival of Speed, which is taking place at Goodwood in West Sussex from the 8th-11th of July.

Visitors to this year's Festival of Speed, a celebration of motorsport and car culture, will be able to see the MC20 make its UK dynamic debut in the Supercar Run, as it takes on the iconic hillclimb over the four day event. Renowned GT1 world champion in the MC12 and Maserati's test driver, Andrea Bertolini, will be showcasing the MC20 on the 1.16 mile hillclimb course.

The MC20, which heralded the start of Maserati's new era, is a super sports car that combines performance, sportiness and luxury. With its mid̵mounted 630 hp twin turbocharged V6 Nettuno engine, featuring Formula 1 derived technology, it can achieve 0-62mph in 2.88 seconds and a top speed of over 202mph. The innovative Nettuno engine will be on display next to the MC20 in the Supercar Paddock and available for enthusiasts to see up close.

MC20 was designed by the Centro Stile Maserati and developed by the Maserati Innovation Lab. The new super sports car is produced at the historic plant in Modena, it is 100% made in Italy and is a combination of elegance, sporting prowess and personality. As spectators will see, while the upper part of the super sports car is a sculptural masterpiece, complemented by the MC20's breathtaking butterfly doors, the lower section is where the technical components take control.

The Ghibli Trofeo will also make an appearance at this year's Festival, and will be showcased in the First Glance Paddock, giving Festival of Speed visitors the opportunity to see Maserati's fastest saloon car ever up close and personal. With a 580 hp twin-turbo V8 engine and a top speed of 203mph, the Ghibli Trofeo's exhaust notes will make sure all eyes are on it.

Both the MC20 and the Ghibli Trofeo will be expected to thrill spectators twice a day on the Goodwood hillclimb and will be on display in the Supercar Paddock and the First Glance Paddock respectively.

Modena, 30 June 2021 ̵ Maserati introduces exclusive new trims for Ghibli, Quattroporte and Levante as part of the range's renewal for Model Year 22 (MY22).

The three new trims - GT, Modena and Trofeo - have been developed not only to fulfill all customers' demands and expectations, but also to fully express the different yet complementary souls of innovation, performance and design of the Maserati range

The Brand's DNA is expressed through unique trims created by the synergy between Centro Stile Maserati and the Product Development Team, with in̵depth research into dedicated materials, details and characterisations.

GT Trim. GT highlights Maserati's character, charm and elegance and embodies the Brand's more urban, minimal, and contemporary spirit, suitable for the dynamic and curious global citizens who are fashion̵conscious but with their own sophisticated, original style.

The Ghibli GT and Levante GT are equipped with a 330 hp 4̵cylinder mild hybrid powerplant. *

The Quattroporte GT, on the other hand, is powered by a 350 hp V6 engine.

On the exterior, this trim enhances the models in the range with chrome inserts, while the wheel rims in 18" (for Ghibli and Levante) or 19" (for Quattroporte) are in alloy. Ghibli Modena and Levante Modena are equipped with the 350 hp V6 gasoline engine.

Trofeo Trim. Trofeo represents the maximum performance of Maserati's personality: the focus is firmly on performance, without sacrificing comfort. This trim is the top of the range in terms of package and, above all, performance. This is thanks to the powerful 580 hp V8 Twin Turbo engine. A carbon fibre trim, 21" alloy wheel rims and red brake calipers complete the exterior. The interior is luxurious, with sport seats in full-grain "Pieno Fiore" natural leather.

Ghibli, Quattroporte and Levante Trofeo move into an extreme dimension, even higher̵performing and faster, but always unquestionably elegant and safe.

In terms of styling, the exterior three new trims (GT, Modena and Trofeo) have the new Maserati logo (introduced with the launch of the MC20) on the bonnet, new Trident logo on the C pillar and updated rear lettering. The badges of the specific trim (with the names GT, Modena or Trofeo) will also appear just above the three iconic side air ducts. The interior also features the new Maserati lettering on the central screen and the new "Trofeo" logo on the headrests.

Modena, 29 June 2021 ̵ Maserati will participate with premières, conferences and dynamic events at the third edition of the Motor Valley Fest, the great open air festival celebrating Italy'ss "sMotor Valley"s, to be held in Modena from Thursday 1st to Sunday 4th July.

The second edition due to be held as a live event, after the digital version in 2020, will take over the iconic locations and piazzas of the city in Italy's Emilia̵Romagna region that has been home to Maserati for over 80 years. Once again, the event celebrates the alliance between the Trident Brand, its native area, innovation and passion, factors that have always been central to the Brand and are still at the heart of its new Era.

Maserati's participation in the Motor Valley Fest will get under way at 09:00 hrs on 1 July at the city'ss Military Academy (Piazza Roma), with the traditional opening conference.

The opening ceremony will conclude with the global unveiling of a special Levante Trofeo Fuoriserie Edition created exclusively with Massimo Bottura.

The Motor Valley Fest 2021 will also mark the start of the new Factory Tours, organised for enthusiasts who wish to visit the historic Modena plant, recently modernised to house the MC20 supercar production line, the new painting line and the innovative Engine Lab, which builds the Nettuno, the engine designed and developed by Maserati and covered by a patent 100% owned by the company itself.

The following is the detailed program of the events, round table discussions and dynamic tests in which Maserati will take part on the streets and in the squares of the city of Modena.

Modena's Old Town Centre provides an open air stage

Ghibli Hybrid, the Brand"s first electrified car, will be on show in the Courtyard of the Military Academy, while Piazza Roma is the backdrop for an original display in the colours of the Italian flag, created in the bodywork of the MC20 (in Bianco Audace colour), Quattroporte Trofeo (green) and Ghibli Trofeo (red), the most extreme, powerful trims of the Maserati sedans.

Dynamic event in the Novi Sad Park area

On Friday 2 July, the Novi Sad Park will become an arena, where two MC20 supercars, one dark blue and one white, will be put through their paces from 11:30 and at 15:45 hrs, highlighting the stunning performance of the Nettuno engine on the straights and corners of a new temporary city-centre circuit certified by ACI Sport, called the "Motor Valley Arena".

The Modena plant is a magical location that combines the Brand's "made in Italy" DNA and its Heritage with an irrepressible drive towards the future and innovation: the plant has been updated with production, engine assembly and painting facilities to house the production of the MC20 and its future electric version.

From Thursday 1 July the plant will be open for tours from 09.00 to 17:30 hrs, offering a first̵hand view of how an icon is born; booking is required at motorvalley.it/partner/maserati̵automobili.

The public will also be able to visit the Showroom, which during the Motor Valley Fest will host an installation dedicated to the Maserati 250F, the Formula 1 single̵seater that carried Juan Manuel Fangio to victory in the 1954 and 1957 F1 world championships. Also on show will be the Quattroporte Fuoriserie Unica One̵Off car built to represent and identify the Unica collection of Maserati's customisation program.

Born from this collaboration and presented in an exclusive global première in Tokyo, an artwork in the form of a melodic duet, Operanera and Operabianca, two contrasting evocations of a Special Edition of the Maserati Ghibli.

This alphanumeric tag seals the partnership: the first four characters are the Ghibli ID code, the next six numbers record the date of the first meeting (5 November 2019) between Hiroshi and the Centro Stile Maserati, and the final three letters are the acronym of Fragment.

MASERATI TIPO 61:
the 60th anniversary of its triumph at the Nürburgring

An anniversary to remind us that good sporting DNA will always be victorious.

From racing roots to a new future on the track with MC20.
 

Modena, 28 May 2021 ̵ On 28th May, Maserati celebrates a significant anniversary; exactly 60 years ago, the Tipo 61 achieved an amazing victory at the seventh edition of the Nürburgring 1,000 kilometres, the great endurance classic held at the Nordschleife in Germany which reached the height of its splendour and popularity in those very years.

With this success, the Maserati Tipo 61 driven by Masten Gregory and Lloyd Casner recorded a memorable double, winning again just one year after the victory achieved in 1960, with Stirling Moss at the wheel alongside Dan Gurney.

The cars were customised with white and blue paintwork, the colours which inspired the Maserati MC12 Stradale, as a tribute to these victories. This supercar, which dominated the early 2000s, recently handed over the torch to the new MC20, renewing the racing spirit that has always been integral to Maserati's DNA, and which is preparing the way for the Trident's motorsports comeback.

The Tipo 61 was the best known of the series of five models designed by Giulio Alfieri, nicknamed "Birdcage" for its unusual chassis, an intricate structure containing about 200 tubes, combined in a complex assembly that resembled a birdcage. This construction method provided a more rigid chassis that was also lighter than the other racing cars of the time, making this two-seater barchetta the ultimate and best solution for front̵engined, rear̵wheel drive racers.

Maserati began building the Tipo 60 in March 1959, but by November of the same year it was already being transformed into the Tipo 61, to comply with the technical regulations required to compete in the Le Mans 24 Hours. The displacement of the four̵cylinder engine was modified to 2,900 cc, while its power output became 250 hp at 7,000 rpm. Otherwise, the car retained the layout and solutions already adopted for the Tipo 60. Moreover, its weight increased from 570 to 600 kg and its top speed from 270 to 285 km/h.

In spite of its massive power output, fuel consumption was still fairly low, and this was vital in endurance races, where the Tipo 61 was able to reduce the number of refuelling stops.

In just three years of production, from 1959 to 1961, the Tipo 60 and the Tipo 61 reigned supreme on the international racing scene, with power and speed that led to a series of extraordinary wins, continuing the victorious tradition of Maserati which now, at the start of its new Era, is once again planning a future in motorsports, under the banner of the MC20.

MASERAT MULTI 70 and GIOVANNI SOLDINI CONQUER THE RECORD ON THE FASTNET ORIGINAL COURSE

Triple victory for the Italian trimaran in the English Channel

595 miles in 23 hours, 51 minutes and 16 seconds
 

Modena, May 09th 2021 ̵ Maserati Multi 70 and Giovanni Soldini crossed the finish line of the Fastnet original course on May 8th at 19:14:11 GMT (21:14:11 Italian time), conquering a new record: 595 miles from Cowes to Plymouth in 23 hours, 51 minutes and 16 seconds, with an average speed of 24,94 knots. The previous time, 25 hours, 4 minutes and 18 seconds, with an average speed of 23,73 knots, was set by Peter Cunningham's MOD70 PowerPlay only a month ago.

The Italian trimaran crossed the starting line off Cowes on May 7th at 19:22:55 GMT heading west. The first part in the Solent was slow, but shortly after the wind got stronger. Soldini said: "It was tough, sailing to Lizard Point the wind was very strong: we sailed with average speeds of 34/35 knots for a few hours and it was great. From there we sailed on a beam reach to the Fastnet with 25/30 knots of wind. This morning we passed the Fastnet and while we were sailing back towards the finish line we caught some unexpected light winds, but we built up a nice advantage during the night. We're very happy, this window was not perfect, but we wanted to try anyway and we did it!"

It's a triple victory for Soldini and his crew, who are closing the record season in the English Channel with a rich haul. The Italian Team arrived in Cherbourg, north of France, on April 11th, ready to set sail whenever ideal weather windows arrived and, in just four weeks, they were able to conquer all three records they had their eyes on: from Plymouth to La Rochelle (12 hours, 15 minutes, 21 seconds), from Cowes to Dinard (4 hours, 30 minutes, 49 seconds) and the Fastnet Original Course (23 hours, 51 minutes, 16 seconds).

For this record, 5 skilled sailors raced aboard the trimaran alongside Giovanni Soldini: among them, for the first time aboard Maserati Multi 70, was Gerardo Siciliano, who was already part of Soldini's crew on ORMA60 TIM and part of Luna Rossa's team. With them also Guido Broggi, Carlos Hernandez Robayna, Oliver Herrera Perez and Matteo Soldini.

With three new records, Maserati Multi 70 proves itself as "laboratory boat" devoted to innovation, on which the engineers from the Maserati Innovation Lab of Modena work hand in hand with Giovanni Soldini's Team to closely analyse the trimaran's performances to find avant̵garde solutions to reach even higher speeds. Soldini commented: "We took advantage of this record attempt to test a new rudder that we studied and developed in the past few months, and it turned out to be fantastic!"

The same know-how in aerodynamics, technological innovation and performance was applied by the Maserati's engineers on the new MC20 halo car, that shares with Maserati Multi 70 the vocation to sports performance with no compromise: just in these days the International Driving Experience is happening, with the super sports car driving on road and on track, while the trimaran sets sail towards the Mediterranean, from where the Team will prepare for the next races planned for the summer.

"Dear Maseratisti,

When I started my business back in 1966, deals were often done on a handshake or by word of mouth. Alas the same cannot be said of today, so it was a refreshing change when I recently dealt with Classic Additions.

In October 2020, I ordered and paid for an interior cover for my son's classic car. He decided to wait to cover his car until circumstances arose when he could give his car a deep clean before fitting the cover.

Due to the circumstances of today, he was unable to clean his car until March this year (2021), some five months after the delivery of the cover. Having washed and polished his car he returned it to the garage and fitted his new cover. Alas the cover was too small as the cover was suitable for a saloon, and not for an estate car as I had ordered.

I immediately contacted Classic Additions explaining the circumstances that had led to our discovery of the fault, (please bear in mind that this is some five months after purchase), and ensured them that the cover had not been used prior to our our discovery.

I am delighted to tell you that Classic Additions were very understanding, apologised for their mistake and have now exchanged the unsuitable cover for one large enough to cover his car.

It's a great pity that there aren't many companies around like Classic Additions !

Maserati's racing debut was exactly 95 years ago; it was on 25 April 1926 that the first racing car to bear the Trident on its bonnet, the Tipo26, won the 1,500 cc class at the Targa Florio with Alfieri Maserati at the wheel.

Red is the colour of Italian motorsports, and historically Maserati cars always raced in paintwork of this hue, which represented Italy in motor racing in the early years of the last century.

The bright, vibrant blue of Azzurro Tributo, on the other hand, reminds us that blue is one of the colours (together with yellow) of the City of Modena, the Brand's historic home.

There are further references to Fangio's 250F, which had a distinctive red and yellow livery, in the yellow brake calipers and the wheel trims.

To complete the exterior look, Levante F Tributo is fitted with Anteo 21" wheels in Black and Ghibli F Tributo with 21" Titano wheels in glossy black. There is a specific badge in glossy black on the wheel arch and the trident logo in body colour on the C̵pillar.

Finally, the shades of the exterior details are reflected on the interior in the red or yellow stitching combined with the Black full-grain "Pieno Fiore" leather.
