MASERATI 200SI #2414 | ||
"Enrico, Bob Ferguson in chassis 2414 at Stillwater, Oklahoma, in September 1957. He raced the car at Galveston, Stillwater, Eagle Mountain and Mansfield, after which his interests turned to OSCAs. Norm Scott, a Mercedes-Benz dealer in Houston, became the second owner of 2414, but ran it only briefly. By 1960 it shows up with its third owner, Jim Binford of Houston. By then the 2-liter Maserati unit had been replaced by a 3-liter Ferrari Monza engine. Its final appearance came at Hilltop, Louisiana, in the 1962 professional USAC race, where Bill Janowski was invited to race it for Binford. The car came ill-prepared and Janowski chose not to take the start. It was its last showing in the Southwest. |
