| MASERATI MERAK SS WITH HEADLIGHT PROBLEMS | ||
| "Hello, My 1978 Merak SS has problems with the pop-up headlights. Once I turn the ignition on, the headlights will pop up without turning the light on. After 5 minutes of driving they regularly go in. It sounds like a hydraulic problem, but in fact this is a late model without hydraulics. Everything appears to be in place, yet I still can't find the problem. Would you mind posting my problem in your forum ? Can somebody in the forum please help me to solve this mystery ? | "On Techno Classica in Essen, Germany, I made pictures of this Maserati A6G 2000 Coupé Zagato (1955), VIN #2189. I noticed that this VIN is missing on your VIN list. Now I can contribute to your magnificent webpages. VIN #2189 was built in 1955 and delivered to private driver Magi Diligenti from Milano. Several races from 1956 to 1958 and many Italian owners followed, until the car went to the USA in 1989. After two German owners it was sold to an English collector in 2008." |

My first reaction is that the car is a Fiat V8 that for some reason was fitted with a V8 Maserati engine at a later stage. Knowing the chassis number would solve the problem at a stroke.
